About NTIA

Mission

NikolaTesla InternationalAcademy (NTIA) is a diverse and inclusive not-for-profit private preschool & elementary school that strives to develop productive and confident lifelong learners by promising a stimulating and rich Serbian-American academic curriculum. NTIA holds true to high quality standards of education by integrating global knowledge which guides each child to achieve his or her maximum individual potential within and beyond his or her elementary years.

Pillars

🏛️1 Provide students with a high quality international academic curriculum and instructors that focus on math, science and educational principles that are elevated above Illinois state standards.

🏛️2 Award students, parents and the community the comfort of a safe bilingual small-scale tailored school and all the resources necessary to aid in the personal and cultural growth of each young individual.

🏛️3 Harbor holistic well-being while nurturing the spirit of curiosity to help students think critically, problem solve and become the most well-rounded and cultured contributors to our shared and evolving world.

Who We Are

NTIA was created by a committed and motivated class of parents and community leaders who saw an opportunity to fill the need for a high-quality, small-scaled, globally cultured school as a resource that can grow within and well outside of our home community of Lyons, IL.

What We Provide

Our local private preschool & elementary education will provide high standard academics, meaningful hands-on instruction and a caring community for students to prosper. A smaller teacher to student ratio will offer a more personalized experience supporting the unlimited opportunity for students to excel. NTIA is enthusiastically participating with a sister academy in Belgrade, Serbia which will connect and expand the standards for our students. NTIA has opened to the public in the fall school season of 2025 and incorporates preschool starting with age 3 and primary school grade levels of 1-4 located in Lyons, IL. Please inquire about tuition rates, fees and further prominent details.

Why Nikola Tesla

Nikola Tesla was a renowned inventor and visionary that spanned beyond his time who embraced asking the question, “why?”. His spirit of curiosity is a model for humanity and a statement within our Pillars of which we work to nurture our future scholars who will play a large part in paving a successful united future for all.

NTIA has a plethora of hands-on learning opportunities such as building a community garden, connecting to our Orthodox religion & culture as well as other prominent cultures of the world and facing real life outside of the classroom with visits to private farmsteads. These experiences along with valued others can advantageously inspire and gratify students’ willingness to learn and absorb the knowledge offered.
